More Power

More Power was brought to life 15 years ago in Hemet, California by its founder, Walter Wolsten. Walter was proud to serve his country as a Fire Protection and Suppression Specialist in the United States Air Force. While rescuing an unconscious pilot from an aircraft that had crash landed on base, Walter suffered a serious back injury that left him paralyzed for some time. After his recovery, Walter was cleared to continue his military service.

Upon returning to civilian life in 1980, Walter found employment as a meter reader at Southern California Edison. He soon realized that advancement in a career was completely determined by his education, so he enrolled at Mt. San Jacinto College. After 3 years of full-time study and full-time employment, he graduated and started an apprenticeship program at Southern California Edison in 1986. Walter worked his way up the ranks from Groundman, to Journeyman Lineman and finally to General Foreman (Supervisor II) in 1996.

His years working at SCE built his strength, confidence and most importantly, his knowledge of the Electric Utility Sector. Walter was forced to take a position that kept him out of the field after aggravating his back injury. But, the countless relationships he had cultivated throughout the years and his skills of identifying and implementing cost saving solutions made him an obvious choice to consult for those same contractors he had worked with in the past. Those relationships built on trust and integrity were Walter's main motivation for building what has become More Power.
